Rebecca Rogers, PhD
Dr. Rogers is a licensed psychologist, earning her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Texas (1997). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (1998), with a focus on weight management, obesity, and eating disorders. Dr. Rogers then served as a faculty member of Augusta University’s Department of Psychology for 13 years, specializing in clinical and health psychology. She was heavily involved in graduate student training, serving as the Director of Internship and leading courses in psychological diagnosis and cognitive assessment (testing).
Throughout her career, Dr. Rogers has been involved in research and has authored more than 50 academic presentations and publications. As such, she subscribes to evidence-based practice (i.e., the integration of therapy outcomes research, clinical expertise, and unique patient characteristics and preferences). Her primary therapeutic orientation is cognitive-behavioral, which focuses on the interaction of thoughts, behaviors and emotions. Clinical specialty areas include: eating disorders and weight management, anxiety disorders, and depression.
