Leila Mohammadizadeh
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern (Augusta University)
I am currently completing my internship for my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges while I enhance my therapeutic skills. Together, we will build mutual respect and trust to help you achieve your unique therapeutic goals.
I offer individual counseling for adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and anger issues, and relationship challenges. I also provide guidance and support for individuals interested in identity development, self-esteem enhancement, and personal growth.
My approach integrates existential and gestalt therapy into cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and is tailored to each client’s needs. I aim to foster a welcoming, empathetic, and non-judgmental atmosphere where you feel heard, validated, and respected. My focus is on identifying your strengths and areas for growth, emphasizing accountability, and redefining your relationship with control to help you feel confident and empowered to make positive changes in your life.
In my additional role as a graduate assistant at Augusta University, I lead a mentorship program that supports undergraduates with marginalized identities as they transition into their first year of college. Prior to becoming a graduate student and counselor-in-training, I worked with children and adolescents from various cultural backgrounds as a childcare provider and mentor. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my cats and goats, cooking, and listening to audiobooks.
