Tyler Melvin, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I recall as early as elementary school when I had friends comment that I was a good listener.  Throughout my life, people close to me have indicated I am an easy person to speak to who was trustworthy and kind.  These kind sentiments stuck with me, and once I reached high school, I felt like this skill should be nurtured and would guide me to a fulfilled life.  I went straight from high school into a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and continued my education with a Master’s degree in Psychology.

I thoroughly enjoy being a person that people feel safe and comfortable around and believe these qualities make approaching therapy easier.  In my personal life, I have experienced my share of burnout, stress, and depression, and I think these experiences ultimately make it easier for me to resonate and empathize with those who are currently experiencing heightened distress.

As a therapist, I am always looking for unique ways to help those who seek therapy.  I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples from a variety of backgrounds in managing feelings of isolation, depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, and interpersonal stress.

I like to meet clients where they are and will work diligently to make sure goals are realistic and achievable.  I see everyone as being worthy of compassion and kindness, and with our time together, I hope you can find that level of compassion for yourself and those around you.
